At Hummeltorp, about 300,000 tons of excess masses are recycled per year, a weight that corresponds to about 25,000 trucks. This requires a large fleet of machines with many units that make the business go round. At Hummeltorp, we always work for the good of the environment – that’s why we have as a goal that all machines should run on electricity. Since 2018, all machines at Hummeltorp are hybrids, electric or powered by HVO. HVO is a renewable and fossil-free fuel that emits 89% less carbon dioxide than diesel.
To enable continued expansion of the electric vehicle fleet, Vattenfall and Svenska Kraftnät are working to draw new electricity lines to Hummeltorp’s facility in Grödinge. The new facility is planned to have electrical hubs throughout the entire area.
